The Colour
Treatment
Rich, dimensional colour with luminous shine — formulated for longevity and a finish that grows out as beautifully as it began.

Beautiful colour is layered, never flat. It moves the way real hair moves and catches light the way good colour catches light — quietly, and exactly as intended. This service is for the client who wants a result that does not announce itself but is unmistakable up close.

The questions worth asking.
How often should I refresh my colour?
Lived-in colour stretches comfortably to 10 to 14 weeks; full-coverage colour and root touch-ups generally fall every 5 to 7 weeks. A gloss appointment in between protects tone, shine, and longevity without committing to a full service.
What is dimensional colour?
Dimensional colour is the deliberate layering of multiple tones — slightly lighter pieces around the face, soft depth at the root, lived-in lengths — to create movement and richness rather than one flat colour. It is what makes a brunette look luminous rather than painted, and a redhead glow rather than read as opaque.
Will colouring my hair damage it?
Modern colour services, done correctly, can actually improve hair condition — particularly when paired with bond-protecting products and the right toning protocols. The risk lies in over-processing, which is exactly what proper planning and considered formulation are designed to prevent.
Do you take on colour corrections?
Yes. Colour corrections — fixing previous work, removing unwanted tone, transitioning between shades, or restoring a base — are some of the most rewarding services I do. Corrections begin with a longer consultation so I can map the safest path forward, often over more than one session.
Can I go darker without it looking flat?
Absolutely — and this is one of the more requested services. Going richer or returning to a natural depth is built on the same principles as going lighter: dimension, custom tone, and gloss. Done right, a deeper colour can look just as luminous as a brighter one.
What is a gloss appointment?
A gloss is a quick, gentle service that refreshes tone and adds shine between full colour appointments. It can shift your colour subtly, neutralize fade, or simply add a layer of polish — usually under an hour, with no lift involved.
What is the investment?
Colour services are quoted at consultation based on the technique, the length and density of your hair, and the result you want.
How do I book?
New clients begin by reaching out on Instagram (@hairbykathely) to schedule a consultation. You will hear back personally, usually within a day.
What clients say.
I've had extensions done in three different cities. This was the first time they looked exactly like my real hair. I stopped explaining to people that they were extensions.
Kathely didn't just colour my hair — she changed the relationship I have with it. I hadn't felt this confident about how I look in years.
I was nervous about extensions for years. After one session with Kathely I understood why everyone keeps coming back.

"Colour, done well, should look like it was always supposed to be there. The work is in the layering — and in knowing exactly when to stop."
— Kathely
